OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2007. The European Union didn't pose with new demands to Ukraine in late 2007 and will not put any within the framework of its accession to the World Trade Organization, Head of the European Commission Delegation to Ukraine Ian Boag told a press conference in Kyiv, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

"Today, we have a good chance to declare that the European Union will not put any new demands to Ukraine during its accession to the WTO, and hasn't put any actually," Mr Boag said.
According to him, the European Union has always seeked to see Ukraine a WTO member.

Earlier the WTO head office announced that Ukraine may join the organization at a session of the WTO General Council slated for February 7 and 8 in Geneva.

Before that the European Union urged Ukraine to revise its regulation of export duty.
