OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2007. On the threshold of New Year an exceptional event took place in the State Library of Makhachkala city specialized in the work with the blind and the people with sight problems, reported the press-centre of JSC “DRGK”.
 
This charity action was held for the children with a poor vision from Makhachkala and Caspijsk cities. After the exciting New Year presentation every child received chocolate together with a set of bright and colorful books with raised printing and sculptured illustrations.
 
25 book sets were delivered to the library from the Charity Fund “Illustrated books for little blind children”. Each set included five specialized books with interesting and amusing assignments. “Illustrated books for little blind children” Fund realizes UNO and UNESCO project “Books for every blind child” by publishing specialized literature for blind children and children with a poor vision. The Fund sends out to different organizations and businesses petitions to subscribe for the books for at least one child. Presently the project unifies 2500 sponsors.

Recently Stavropol Electric Generation Company and Regional Power Generation Company of Dagestan, affiliates of JSC “HydroOGK”, joined the action. JSC “DRGK” invited actors from the State Puppet-Show Theatre to give a New Year presentation for the children with a poor vision. After the play Fox, Raccoon, Snow-White and other fairy tale characters sang and danced with the children. Santa Claus also came and brought a present for every child.
 
Well-coordinated joined work of several organizations and individuals made this charity event possible. The librarians took deliverance of personal invitations upon themselves and visited every child inviting him or her to the performance together with the parents. Regional Power Generation Company of Dagestan covered all the expenses for the puppet-show and New Year fairytale presentation. Several individuals provided sweets and chocolate for the children. This is how one good action united so many different people bringing joy to everybody!
