OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 January Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of KAMAZ Inc., was in Turkmenistan and participated in official meetings and solemn events devoted to the visit of the Tatarstan government delegation to this country.

The Tatarstan delegation under the direction of Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime-Minister of the RT, included Aleksandr Kogoghin, Minister of Industry and Trade of the RT, Zilya Valeyeva, Minister of Culture of the RT and managers of large-scale industrial enterprises of Tatarstan: Shafagat Takhautdinov (Tatneft OJSC), Damir Karimullin (Kazan Motor-Building Production Association), Vadim Ligay (Kazan Helicopter Plant), Radik Khasanov (POZIS), Ivan Yegorov (Ak Bars Holding OJSC representing Zelenodolsky Shipyard named after A.M. Gorky).

The delegation was received by Gurbangula Berdymukhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. The industrial potential of Tatarstan and KAMAZ was presented at the meeting of government delegations. There were signed two agreements – on KAMAZ and on cooperation of Tatarstan and Turkmanistan in oil and gas industry.

The first document provides for shipment of 2549 units of KAMAZ trucks to this region in the current year that is 6 times as many than in 2007. Besides, the document stipulates that the service center of the Tatarstan Company will be opened within the period till 25 June 2008, the teaching complex will be created on its basis and Turkmen experts will be trained on the basis of the Engineering Economic Academy (the former Kama Polytechnic Institute) with further job placement in the new center. There will be explored the possibilities for sales of bus machinery on KAMAZ chassis and driving test operation of tractors produced by the company-owned plant McKormick (England).
