Seaport Primorsk was put into operation in 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk and West-Siberia oil-and-gas provinces as well as from Kazakhstan. In 2006, the port’s throughput totaled 66.8 million tonnes of oil.
