OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 200. Donbass Fuel-Energy Company (DTEK, Donetsk) is going to supply machinery, equipment and materials for mining to the state-run companies Sverdlovanthracite and Rovenkianthracite (both located in Lugansk Region) for an amount totalling UAH 219.8m.

The amount of the agreements concluded by Sverdlovanthracite with DTEK on December 28, 2007 totaled UAH 120.302m, says a news-bulletin from the Tender Chamber of Ukraine.

Besides, Rovenkianthracite announced DTEK as the successful bidder of the tenders held in November 2007 in four out of five lots. The amount of the agreement entered into on December 3, 2007 is UAH 99.507m.

UkrTekhPostavka Ltd. (Donetsk) was declared the winner of the fifth lot. The amount of the agreement concluded on December 13 was UAH 2.986m.

As informed, in July 2007, DTEK had already entered into machinery, equipment and material supply agreements with Rovenkianthracite and Sverdlovanthracite for a total amount of UAH 598.791m and UAH 197.698m respectively.

These state-run companies are among the most attractive coal mining companies that are still state owned and fall under the control of the Ukrainian Ministry of Coal.

In 2007, Rovenkianthracite reduced coal output by 35.6% compared to 2006 to 5.2378 m tons while Sverdlovanthracite increased coal production by 1.17% in 2007 compared with 2006 to 6.4148 m tons.

DTEK was established in 2005 to run the energy assets of Rinat Akhmetov’s SCM Group (Donetsk). The corporation was delegated the function of the strategic management of the Group’s enterprises building a vertically integrated chain from coal production and enrichment to electricity generation and sale.
