OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2007. Stroytransgaz, in accordance with contractual obligations, has completed basic construction-assembly work on the 112-kilometer, 720-mm diameter section of the gas main pipeline from the Kovytka gas condensate field to the village of Zhigalovo in Irkutsk Oblast. The section is an integral part of the 68-kilometer Kovykta-Sayansk-Irkutsk gas pipeline.

Stroytransgaz and the East Siberian Gas Company signed the contract for construction of the Kovytka-Zhigalovo gas pipeline in June 2006.

As general contractor, Stroytransgaz built the main pipeline of the gas facility. It conducted work simultaneously at three points along the route: pipeline construction was carried out from Zhigalovo and the Kovykta field to a meeting point while underwater passages were constructed for the Lena and Tutura rivers. More than 200 specialists worked in the Zhigalovo region alone.
