OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2007. In 2007 Ipoteka-Bank State Joint-Stock Innovative Bank paid special attention to the intensive expansion of plastic card operations, implementation of promotion and awareness raising campaigns among the plastic card users on the advantages of non-cash payments made through plastic cards, reported the press-centre of Ipoteka-Bank.

Measures were taken to optimize the placement of terminals, automatic teller machines and other equipment for the convenience of plastic card users.

As of 1 January 2008 the number of plastic cards serviced by the bank made up 438,900. The bank has installed 1982 terminals. In order to expand the volume of plastic card operations and thereby support the stabilization of the cash-money circulation in the country, the bank installed additional 432 terminals in 2007.

In order to increase non-cash payments, reduce the spending of cash, salary projects are being organized for the budget organizations, large enterprises and organizations.

These measures are gradually producing positive results. In 2007 over 2,600 transactions were conducted by Ipoteka Bank's plastic cards, of which 73,1% were non-cash payment transactions.
In 2006 the same indicator made up 58,1%.

The volume of transactions conducted by plastic cards made up 126,7 billion soums, including non-cash payments in the amount of 30,5 billion soums, which exceeds the 2006 results by 20 billion.

The main volume of non-cash payments in the amount of 27,2 billion soums was conducted through trade terminals. Also payments in the amount of 3,3 billion soums were made for municipal services through the terminals of the savings banks.

The remaining balance on the cards at the beginning of this year made up 9,31 billion soums having grown by 4,6 billion soums compared to the beginning of 2007.
