OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2007. Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications will present International Bureau of UPU 59 proposals on introduction of amendments to the Acts of UPU. Single package was signed by the plenipotentiary representatives of postal administrations heads of RCC member-countries at the Session of RCC Committee on Postal Service and Session of Postal Operators Council held in Kishinev (Моldova), January,18th. The document will be considered at 24th Universal Postal Congress of UPU, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.

Of all the proposals RCC will see 17 individual and 5 jointly worked out with Russia. The country with considerable experience is traditionally one of the most active members of postal world.

The proposals concern the articles of the Universal Postal Convention, Letter Post Regulations and Parcel Post Regulations. They aim at improving cooperation between postal operators, optimizing the processes of international post delivery, advancing service quality and making them more available. The changes, in particular, help to avoid baseless raise in prices for international postal services, reduce risks of post collection and delivery delay and solve disputable questions.

RCC member-countries have confirmed their willing to be coordinate to promote candidates to UPU.

Currently, specialists of FSUE Russian Post authorized by Russian Postal Administration (Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Russian Federation), participate in the activities of more than 20 different committees, groups, subgroups and units of UPU. Russia chairs the Strategic Planning Group, Vice President of Consultative Committee on Direct Mail and Telematics Cooperative of UPU, Member of Advisory Board of Quality of Service Fund and Member of Committees as Terminal Dues Project Group, Quality of Service Project Group and Parcels Group.
