OREANDA-NEWS. On January 22, 2007 by his Decree No. 28, the President of the Republic of Belarus has extended the list of craft activities, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by. 

Under the Decree, artistic woodworking (carving); manual embroidery; manufacturing of some types of footwear; toys made of fabric, leather, straw, clay; repair of animal-drawn carts and sleigh.

Thus the government stimulates further development of craft activities which are characterised by the production of small-scale commodities, are not a high-profit business and geared more toward providing employment to rural population and citizens living in small towns.
