OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2008. Owners of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port plan to raise the company’s container throughput from 168,000 to 1 million containers, Interfax-Yug reports according to Yug.Ru. According to the source, the company’s throughput fell by 3.6% in 2007 to 71.7 million tonnes.

NCSP OJSC spends $700 for the increase of the terminal’s capacity. The company plans to raise oil shipment by 15 million tonnes (or 300,000 barrels) per day. Besides, NCSP is to build a ground for transshipment of 2.5 million tonnes of alumina imported by RusAl. The terminal is likely to open in 2010. As of today NCSP completes negotiation on purchase of 50% of Baltic Stevedore Co., operating in the port of Baltijsk (Kaliningrad region).
Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP OJSC) is the largest stevedoring company operating at the port of Novorossiysk. Beneficiaries of the company’s control stake are Aleksandr Ponomorenko and Aleksandr Skorobogatko In November 2007 NCSP held IPO at London Stock Exchange and in Russia having placed 19.38% of shares. The company’s capitalization totaled $4.9 billion.
