OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2007. Over 300 Moldovan economic agents have applied for participation in the seventh issue of the National Exhibition Made in Moldova, due to be staged at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre under the government's patronage on 5-10 February. Attending the event, Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev recalled that the exhibition's goal is to support and promote the interests of the local producers. At the same time he stressed that the 2008 issue of the Made in Moldova exhibition is even more important if seen in the context of the cancellation of Moldova visas for the European Union, the agreement on the facilitation of the issuance of EU visas for Moldova as well as the agreement on the EU Autonomous Trade Preferences.

The officials were also informed that the roundtables that will be conducted within the exhibition will be tasked with informing the participants about the provisions of the agreement on the EU Autonomous Trade Preferences, so that starting from 1 March 2008, when the document enters into force, local exporters be ready for capitalising the advantages it offers.

The first issue of the exhibition (2002) brought together 55 participants while in 2007, the event arouse the interest of 321 participants. Made in Moldova is organised by the Economics and Trade Ministry, the Chamber of Trade and Industry and the National Producers' Association.
