OREANDA-NEWS.  January 30, 2008.It was their first meeting in 2008 and, according to the tradition, they have summed up the results of the past year and have outlined the tasks for 2008. The conferees have also discussed the results of the maintenance campaign 2007.

The chairman of the meeting, the deputy director general-technical director of Rosenergoatom Concern Nikolay Sorokin told the conferees about the performance of the REA NPPs in 2007 and presented the tasks for 2008: “Our nuclear power plants performed quite well last year. We have shown the highest ever capacity factor – 77.7%. The plants worked safely and efficiently. All the planned repairs were carried out in time.”

The key tasks of 2008 are the safe and efficient work of the plants, the fulfillment of the electricity production plant, further modernization and active work to increase electricity generation. The last task is very important as it is part of the federal target program for the development of the nuclear industry in 2007–2015.

Such meetings are conducted every three months. They help to solve many current technical problems.
