OREANDA-NEWS. On 29 January 2008 ‘HR-Brand of the Year-2007’ awards ceremony took place in the Et Cetera theatre in Moscow. Baltika Breweries won first prize in the category ‘FMCG: FOOD PRODUCTS, BEVERAGES.’

Baltika Breweries led the field in its category during the first stage of the competition, which took place in December and took the form of an on-line poll of job-seekers regarding their trust in prospective employer companies. Out of 12,000 participants in the poll, the overwhelming majority voted in favour of Baltika.

The Company presented to the competition its project for drawing employees into the process of in-house training, thanks to which a culture of exchange and transfer of experience is built up in the enterprise, as well as creating conditions for maximum achievement of employee potential. An independent jury consisting of experts in the field of recruitment and brand-building acknowledged Baltika to be the winner of the second stage of the competition.

Daniil Briman, Vice President for HR and Corporate Affairs in Baltika Breweries commented as follows: ‘The contribution of HR to the Company’s development is a very important resource for the enterprise. This is something you have to constantly look after. We are pleased that our efforts in this direction have been noticed both by potential job applicants and by experts in the field of HR. Nowadays, it is extremely important how we make daily use of innovative tools and best practices of working with staff within the Company and its subdivisions across Russia.’

The program presented to the competition is one of the elements in a multifaceted and modern system of working with staff used within Baltika Breweries. In order to motivate employees, the Company has introduced compensation and incentive schemes that are clear for everyone. It has introduced orientation courses for new employees, and there is a corporate training centre, as well as a coaching program and annual evaluation of the work of every employee.

During 2006, 480 million rubles were invested in developing staff.

Baltika Breweries is the largest FMCG producer in Russia. Ever since 1996, it has been the leader on the Russian beer market. The Baltika brand occupies second place in Europe in terms of sales. The Company comprises 11 breweries across all of Russia and has a broad portfolio of brands. There are around 12,000 employees in the Company.
