OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 January 2008 was announced, that the Angara area and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are planning to apply to the RF-Investment Fund for financing of the “North” Energy Project of Irkutskenergo Company.

Now representatives of two constituent entities of the Russian Federation discuss the given issue. First Deputy Governor of the Angara Territory Yury Paranichev reported this to EP.

According to his words, submission of the joint application under the "North" project assuming association of two power supply systems - Yakutia and Angara Territory - was proposed by Vice President of the Government of Yakutia Gennady Alekseev. However, the Irkutsk area is also interested in acceptance of this decision. Yury Paranichev said that till January 29, 2008 the given issue will be settled. After that it is planned to draw up a final application and to direct it to the Investment Fund. Now the coordination of the core ministries and departments were already received on the given project.

According to the information received by EP in Irkutskenergo, within the limits of the "North" Project, construction of system forming electricity transmission lines and substations of 500 kV voltage in the north of the area is supposed. Realization of the project will contribute to development of interregional network infrastructure. The period of construction is from 2008 to 2016. Total amount of investments is 30.6 billion rubles. Term of cost recovery is 10 years.

By information in Irkutskenergo, the "North" program stipulates also development of generation for 2009-2019. It is planned for this purpose to construct the following facilities: a gas turbine station in the Ust-Kut area having capacity of 300 MW with an opportunity of expansion up to 600 MW; a steam gas station in Irkutsk having capacity of 900 MW; a coal thermal power station in the Tulun area with capacity of 990 MW; to expand K-330 block of Novo-Ziminsk Thermal Power Station. The total amount of investments in construction of these facilities is 96.5 billion rubles. The cost recovery term is 15-20 years. The project of development of generating sources is supposed to be financed due to the company's resources involved through additional emission of shares in 2008-2009.
