OREANDA-NEWS.  On 31 January  it was announced, that the Kharkiv bearing plant (KharP) controlled by Kharkiv-based Ukrainian Industrial Energy Company (UPEK) intends to supply 6.5 million racer billets worth a total of USD 8.5 million to the SKF Ukraine company (SKF Group) in 2008.

The appropriate contract was signed in December. The billets will be produced by the hot stamping method. The plant's new products are also undergoing approval procedures at the SNR company, says KharP Director General Viacheslav Yurov.

The said companies are the world's leading producers of bearings, he emphasized.
As Ukrainian News reported, KharP is one of the biggest producers of ball and roller bearings in the Commonwealth of Independent States, branding them HARP.

The World Trading Bearing Ltd company (Great Britain) owns 45.38% of the shares in open joint stock company Kharkiv Bearing Plant, when Ukrainian Industrial Energy Company and the companies affiliated with it own 50.095%.
 
Ukrainian Industrial Energy Company was set up in 1995. It controls the Kharkiv bearing plant, Kharkiv machine tool plant (Kharverst), Kharkiv-based UkrElektroMash electro-technical plant, the Ukrainian Foundry Company (Kharkiv), the Lozova forging and mechanical plant, the Lozova combine plant, and the Tyniakov Clothes Factory (all based in Kharkiv region), as well as a number of other enterprises.
