OREANDA-NEWS. February 4, 2008. The Ashkhabad textile complex located in the southeast of Ashkhabadvividly exemplifies an effective approach to organization of production requiring advanced technologies and marketing decisions.

The complex supplied with up-to-date equipment includes several factories with the complete manufacturing cycle. Ginned cotton is delivered to the textile complex, which manufactures knitwear of high demand all over the world. In 2007, the complex manufactured knitwear to the sum of 500 million manats. Over 70 % of domestically manufactured goods were exported.

The complex includes two spinning mills, one mill was put into operation simultaneously with the complex and the other – a year later.

Cotton yarn is delivered to the knitting and the weaving factories. The computer-aided weaver's looms transform cotton threads into fabric. Fabric is specially treated by the dye boarders. Fabric and yarn are dyed by the special production lines.

The factory has the press, which prints 12-colour patterns on fast-printed fabric. Turkmen fabric and products are easily recognized all over the world by the original combination of colours and remarkable patterns.

Finished goods are manufactured at the large-scale clothing factory equipped with hundreds of sewing machines. Every day it produces 40,000 sports jerseys, 7,000-8,000 T-shirts. The quality of finished goods is tested, finished goods are packed up in compliance with the international standards and exported worldwide.

A leading specialist Gusein Guseinov said, “The demand for the goods manufactured at the Ashkhabad textile complex is steadily increased. The domestically manufactured goods exported to the United States, Western Europe and Scandinavia are known under the world’s brand labels such as Calvin Klein, Sara Lee, Casual Wear, Woolmark, Ikea, Nautica. It is known well worldwide under the brand label Made in Turkmenistan.

Manufacturing the products in compliance with the national standards the complex has the certificates required of any textile enterprise exporting the goods to foreign markets. The enterprise has the certificates ISO 9001 quality management, ISO 14001 environment management, OHSAS 18001 safety engineering systems and WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production). None of the textile enterprises in Central Asia has ever won so many certificates.

The reputation for the local collective is above all, and foreign partners highly appreciate that. The quality of products is thoroughly tested at each stage; the international companies regularly audit the financing activities of the enterprise. Through applying the international standards the enterprise enhances the competitiveness of its goods on world market. The 6 Sigma System is introduced at the enterprise to reduce the prime cost. For this purpose up-to-date dyeing and fabric finishing equipment will be installed at the complex.
