OREANDA-NEWS. February 6, 2008. Kyiv - Renaissance Capital announced today that Peter Vanhecke has been appointed Head of Investment Banking and Financing at Renaissance Capital Ukraine. In his new position, Peter will lead a team of 15 Kyiv-based professionals with industry-leading investment banking experience in both emerging and mature markets. Mr. Vanhecke joins Renaissance Capital's Kiev office from its Moscow office where he worked as a Director in the Investment Banking and Finance department since 2006.

Peter joined Renaissance Capital in 2006 from Dresdner Kleinwort where he worked for five years in investment banking in London, Frankfurt and Moscow. Prior to joining DK in December 2001, he worked in the M&A departments of Wasserstein Perella & Co in London (2000-2001) and Lazard Freres in Paris (1999 – 2000). Before becoming active in investment banking, Peter worked as a strategic consultant for the Boston Consulting Group (1997-1999) and as a lawyer for Baker & McKenzie (1992-1995).

During his ongoing banking career, Peter has worked on a substantial number of M&A and capital market assignments covering a wide variety of sectors and geographies. These include the sale of Infosources, the sale of the Groenwoudt food retail chain, the disposal of BASF's Pharma division, the disposal of Preussag Energie, the Parliament Vodka – CEDC partnership, the acquisition of the Tinkoff breweries and the sale of the Ruzanna confectionary company. Recently, Peter also advised on the IPOs of Rosinter, Synergy, Nutritek, Razguliay and MVideo.

Peter Vanhecke has a Law degree from the Catholic University Leuven School of Law (Leuven, Belgium), a Master of Laws degree from Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago, IL) as well as a MBA degree from Columbia University (New York, NY).
