OREANDA-NEWS. On 7 February 2008 was announced, that Tetra Pak, a world leading company in processing and packaging of liquid products, has expanded the range of Tetra Recart packaging for canned food.

In 2007, Tetra Pak launched two new package sizes of Tetra Recart: 500 ml and
340ml. In addition, the company launched the new equipment solution for its customers – Tetra Pak R2 form, fill and seal machine, providing up to 6,000 packages per hour.

Extensive offer expansion reflects increasing demand for the 21st century’s alternative of cans and glass jars.

The first products (mostly vegetables) were launched in Tetra Recart in 2003. Today more than 100 different products are packed in Tetra Recart, including vegetables, beans, prepared food, mushrooms, olives, pet food, canned fish, sauces, etc. At the end of 2007, first soup product was launched in Tetra Recart.

All these products have traditionally been packed in cans, glass jars and pouches. The number of consumers and customers that prefer Tetra Recart package to other options permanently grows as this packaging provides a number of undisputable advantages. The world-leading producers, including Bonduelle, Heinz, Sainsbury's, Go Green, Quero, DelFuerte, Kwidzyn and many others use Tetra Recart for their food packaging. Products packed in Tetra Recart are produced in Spain, Italy, France, Great Britain, Sweden, Belgium, Mexico, Poland and other countries.
Tetra Recart package is compact and space efficient in transport and storage. It also ensures significant savings. A million of Tetra Recart packages requires a truck for transporting, while a million of tin cans would require nine trucks. Tetra Recart saves up to 40% shelf space.
It is the first retortable carton package. The filled product can be sterilized within the package to extend its shelf life to up two years. Tetra Recart is conveniently shaped and weighs 3.5 times less than a can. Perforation makes the package simple and safe to open, and easy to serve from and to reseal.

In Russia Tetra Recart package was launched in 2006. Buyers of Bozita pet food were the first to discover its advantages. Dmitry Konstantinov, CEO of Zooproekt, the importer of Bozita products to Russia, notes convenience and functionality of the package: ”Tetra Recart has incontestable advantages over a can.
