OREANDA-NEWS. On 8 February 2008 Aleksander Levcheko, first deputy head of the Associate board of architecture, construction, development and reconstruction of Moscow announced, that 2.5 million square metres of social housing are planned to be built in Moscow in 2008, , declared on February 7.

Mr Levchenko said that the total area of housing set to be erected in Moscow in 2008 will equal 5.3 million square metres. “The city mayor of Moscow tasked to build not less than 2.5 million square metres of housing under the social programs,” the official emphasized.

Besides, the first deputy head of the Associate board noted that the builders of Moscow were to realize a new project of construction of cottages for large families in 2008.

Mr Levchenko added that Moscow planned to put up 1.5 million square metres of housing in the regions of Russia and other countries in 2008.
