OREANDA-NEWS. February 8, 2008. Stroytransgaz has begun realizing a project to build a second gas processing plant and to develop five gas fields in the northern part of central Syria.

The plant, to be located 75 kilometers southwest of Al-Rakka and 230 kilometers from Homs, will have processing capacity of 1.3 billion mі of raw gas per year. Its marketable gas will be shipped by an existing gas pipeline to Aleppo and its condensate sent to the oil gathering station in Al-Suffian.

The project will link wells from five gas fields: West Twinan, Twinan, Al Gour, East Al Akram, and Al Harith. The fields will then be connect to the central gas gathering and metering station, from which gas will flow by pipeline to the new gas processing plant.

The Syrian Gas Company is customer for this project. Stroytransgaz, in accordance with the contract concluded on EPC terms in May 2007, will prepare the engineering design, handle procurement, perform assembly and alignment work, and enter the object into exploitation.
