OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2008. National economy is experiencing the fundamental reforms aimed at introducing the market mechanisms, actively integrating into the world economy. This goal is a priority for Turkmen textile industry as well. Turkmen textile industry workers are able to work on the world market, the textile goods labeled Made in Turkmenistan is of great demand in Europe and America.

Today, the enterprises equipped with advanced technologies are the kernel, and they are going to increase in number. On the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan the large-scale projects have been launched throughout the country – the projects on construction of the cotton-spinning factories in the Dashoguz and the Lebap Velayat, the plant producing medical wool and make-up cotton pads in Ashgabat. After the enterprises are put into operation the volume of ginned cotton processed in Turkmenistan will increase to 60 percent. The task to process the total amount of cotton yielded in the country was set to Turkmen textile industry workers.

Expansion of the network of textile enterprises in the country will promote development of the rural areas, creation of the modern industrial and social infrastructure in the regions and new jobs for local highly qualified specialists.

The necessary measures include enhancement of the country’s prestige worldwide as a leading textile producer, increase of consumers’ confidence and use of modern marketing decisions. The ISO and WRAP international certifications required to operate on world market were awarded to the textile enterprise in Turkmenistan including the Textile Complex, the Jeans Complex, the Serdar cotton spinning factory in Kaahkha. Confirming that the goods manufactured in Turkmenistan comply with the international quality standards and the technological, environmental and ethic requirements these certificates are the guarantor of the high quality of Turkmen textile goods all over the world. These enterprises manufacture the goods under the world-renowned brands – Calvin Klein, Sara Lee, Casual Wear, Ikea, and perform the orders placed by the world’s leading companies, for whom the reputation is above all.

The current activity is aimed at certifying the enterprises put into operation Turkmenistan in compliance with the international standards. The most important requirements include compliance with the environmental standards, in particular the environment management systems and standards ISO-14001.

On February 13, Ashgabat hosts the International Exhibition Textile Industry and the Art of Carpet Weaving. The environmental issues are put on the agenda of the scientific conference, which will be held within the framework of the exhibition.

The national textile enterprises will present their achievements at the economic forum. The foreign companies – the time-proved long-term partners as well as those willing to operate on the Turkmen market will take part in the exhibition. A great number of the world’s leading companies are willing to take advantage of the favourable investment climate actively created in the country, which is resolutely advancing along the way of fundamental economic reforms.
