OREANDA-NEWS.  On 13 February 2008 was announced, that the IT Department of OJSC TGC-9 put into pilot service a Unified Digital Data Network (UDDN) in all regions where the company operates.

OJSC TGC-9 has established the UDDN to meet the requirements applicable to the generation facilities operating in the Russian wholesale power market. Commissioning of the network has connected all of the company's power plants with each other and with the regional dispatch departments by reliable advanced voice, dispatch and alphanumeric communications channels. These communications may include data from sensors monitoring performance of the main generation and other power equipment used in production, transformation and transfer of electric power, as well as other data necessary for operating TGC-9's power facilities in accordance with the fixed dispatch schedules.

TGC-9 started implementation of the project on development of its Unified Digital Data Network in May, 2007. The company has introduced fiber-optic, relay and satellite communication channels ensuring reliable and efficient data transmission. Certain segments of TGC-9's UDDN have been in pilot operation for several months already, while on February 11, 2008 the company launched this network as a whole.

TGC-9's subsidiaries operate in the Perm Territory, the Sverdlovsk Region and the Republic of Komi. Many of the former communication channels linking these subsidiaries were worn-out and outdated, lacked backup lines, were based on different types of equipment and could not fully meet the company's demands for reliable exchange of information.
