OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2008. In 2008, the production corporation Gomselmash would like to increase the number of its trading houses in the Russian Federation. Apart from the trading houses Gomselmash-Siberia and Gomselmash-South, the Belarusian company intends to open the same structures in the Povolzhskiy Federal Area and the Central Federal Area of the Russian Federation. At present, the marketing department of the company is studying the proposals of the Russian regions.

The setting up of trading houses is one of the priorities of the export policy of the production corporation. The first experience of the work of the trading houses was rather successful. For instance, in 2007, the trading house Gomselmash-South sold agricultural machinery at the amount of $29,3 million. This year, this sum should be increased up to $45 million, or 22% of the total export of the company. According to Vladimir Frolov, Gomselmash has achieved such results as its trading houses not only control and coordinate dealer centres in their regions but they offer all the range of services.

In January 2008 Belarusian company Gomselmash exported $15.5 million worth of agricultural machines and spare parts to Russia and Ukraine, roughly six times the amount the company exported in January 2007. This year Gomselmash intends to double its export to reach $200 million as against 2007. The company mainly exported grain harvesters of various modifications.

Production corporation Gomselmash is a multi-business producer of machines used to cultivate and harvest basic crops utilising contemporary agrarian technologies. The company’s line-up includes machines for harvesting grain, forage crops, sugar beet, potato, as well as mowers and machines for complex soil cultivation. The company’s designing, manufacturing and maintenance practices are certified for compliance with the international quality management system ISO 9001-2001. Many times Gomselmash won awards at contests “Belarus Best Products” and “Belarus Best Products in the Russian Federation”. The corporation was established on the basis of Gomselmash plant in 1978. The plant was founded in 1930. At present the company employs over 17,000 people.
