OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2008. First solutions and intentions for realization of the project were voiced on February 7 during the meeting in Moscow attended by delegation from Republic of Tatarstan including the managers of the power holding and minister of informatics and communications of RT Farit Fazylzyanov. The meeting was with the top managers from IBM Eastern Europe/Asia on the issues of cooperation and IT-technologies development in the Republic. The negotiations were attended also by Area Director "North-Eastern Europe" for IBM Bruno de Leo. The three-party protocol of intentions was signed.

Specialists from IBM expressed the readiness fro implementation of pre-project due diligence of Tatenergo companies, basing on results of which will be set up the recommendations for implementation of IBM Maximo solution, and foundation of the Center of Competence IBM Maximo and other IBM technologies on base of "TatAISEnergo, Ltd". Specialists of one of the world leaders –suppliers of IT-technologies intent to consider the possibility of rendering the Tatenergo assistance with organization of the training for work with system product. Tatenergo in its turn plans to start project activity, elated to implementation of IBM Maximo solution within the next two months. The parties told of intention to cooperate at the stage of pre-project investigation and in realization the project, including in the issues of data exchange for quality respective works doing.

The initial familiarizing of the managers of "Tatenergo" holding with the software IBM Maximo for managing the condition of fixed assets of the companies through automation of maintenance and repair took part in London in October last year. Then the top management of the power system demonstrated the industry solutions of IBM Maximo, technical and web-characteristics, possibilities and prospects of this IBM resource. Cooperation IBM with power companies was the subject of s-discussions. As part of negotiations the top managers of Tatenergo got to know the expertise of implementation of solution IBM Maximo by Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) Energy (USA), аnd visited the CHP of Scottish and Southern energy.

Automation of production and repair process on base of the single unified platform would allow the owner of the fixed assets to trace their technical condition and characteristics in real time, to literally plan the actions for servicing and upgrading of facilities. Besides, such innovations reduce the costs for repairs, promote efficient resource application, enhance productivity and completion on the engineering services market.
