OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2008. The major oil company of the Republic started implementation of a new version of the program "OAO TATNEFT's policy in the field of industrial safety, health and environment" in January, reported the press-centre of OAO TATNEFT.

Henceforth, the two previous separate documents "Environmental policy of OAO TATNEFT" and "OAO TATNEFT's policy in the field of industrial safety and health" will be replaced by one essentially reflecting the unified  integrated Company's policy program in the field of industrial safety, health and environment.

The new instrument has been designed in compliance with the requirements of the international standards ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. Inter alia it states that OAO TATNEFT being one of the largest vertically integrated oil companies in Russia is closely linking its policy in the field of rational management of natural resources, industrial safety, health and environment with the strategy of the state in these areas. Priorities of the Company are defined and there are three of them in the document: providing for safe working environment, protection of health of the staff and the people living in the areas of the Company's activity; reducing technological environmental impact; natural resources management. 

The most essential targets and the conditions for reaching them have been formulated. The new version of the document covers all the structural divisions and subsidiaries of OAO TATNEFT. Accordingly, all employees of the Company will be familiarized with it on a mandatory basis and moreover the same refers to the employees of contractors performing work at the facilities of OAO TATNEFT.

The text of the Policy will be available on the web site of OAO TATNEFT and it will be published in corporate publications and the information will be posted on the stands of the Company's divisions.
