OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2008. The subscription campaign for 1st half-year of 2008 demonstrated subscription circulation growth. In general people subscribed for 31 mln periodicals. The official figures show 5,5% amount of subscription growth, 2% circulation growth compared to the former year, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.

The majority of the regions didn’t only keep the subscription volume in the previous year, but increased this rate. Subscription campaign growth is fixed in over 70% of FSUE Russian Post branch offices.

The most considerable growth is noted in the regions in the South Federal District, the Republic of Dagestan, the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessiya, Ingooshetia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic amounted 15,4%, 11%, 10%, 7.4% respectively. Such remote and difficult-to-access regions as the Yamal-Nenets AA and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) unexpectedly became the leaders of subscription campaign with 15% growth rate.

The regions in the Siberian Federal District show good results in the Republic of Buryatia, Khakassiya and Tyva, Omsk and Tomsk regions. Circulation growth increased from 5 to 9% depending of different regions.

The regions in the Central District also note subscription circulation growth. The highest rates of 9%, 5,4% and 6,5% are fixed in Ivanovo region, Moscow and Moscow region respectively.

The Republic of Bashkortostan holds the leader position in subscription market in Russia with 2,3 mln periodicals rate. The citizens of Krasnodar territory plan to read over 2 mln periodicals in the current half-year.

This campaign demonstrates subscription circulation growth for the fourth time. First positive tendency for a long period was traced in the second half-year of 2006 and amounted 0,4%. Since that time subscription market has stable growth of circulation. This trend is explained by new tariff system and coordination of all participants in the market.
