OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 February 2008 was announced, that in February “Russia” State Transport Company’s ticket sales agencies in Russia linked up with IATA’s unified mutual calculation system, BSP (Billing and Settlement Plans). This means that the airline’s tickets are now produced electronically not only abroad, but also in Russia.

Since December 2007 electronic ticketing has been introduced on flights from St. Petersburg to Beijing, London, Amsterdam and a number of German cities, and on return flights from those destinations. E-tickets used to be available only to those “Russia” passengers who had paid for their journeys at points of sale abroad included

in the BSP network. With the participation of the airline’s Russian agencies in the system, the number of passengers travelling on electronic tickets will increase substantially. The BSP system involves the use of socalled “neutral” coupons, which are accepted by all airlines who are members of IATA.

Let's remind, that according to requirement or IATA (International Air Transport Association - the International association of air transport) the airlines entering into association, should refuse paper document circulation by June, 1st, 2008. Realising this requirement, STC "Russia" in 2007 has introduced own system of registration of passengers and luggage DCS (Departure Control System), that has technologically provided service start e-ticketing. One of following stages become: a possibility of web-registration of passengers, through registration and an establishment of booths of independent registration thanks to what passengers of airline can reduce time of preflight procedures considerably.
