OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2008. This four-episode documentary will be aired under support of ROSNO, which belongs to Allianz Group, WWF’s worldwide partner on the climate change issues. The first episode of Six Degrees Could Change The World will debut on February 17 in 11:00 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel. This documentary features catastrophic events potentially resulting from the global climate change, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

For many years, this problem has been worrying Allianz Group. Each of Allianz companies operating throughout the world participates in solving this problem, finding partners for joint protection against climate change. For example, Allianz Austria has joined the WWF’s climate change workgroup; Allianz Insurance (UK) participates in the climate change initiative ClimateWise; Allianz’s Australian subsidiary sponsors a rainforest salvation project. These are only a few examples of the great job performed by Allianz in this field.

According to Mr. Mikhail Safran, member of ROSNO’s Management Board, "ROSNO takes great pride in carrying out educational activities focused on bringing the Russians’ attention to this danger, which is growing day by day. Our work is directly connected with risks, and we perfectly realize the consequences threatening each of us in case if the climate change becomes uncontrollable. For this very reason, ROSNO has been a member of WWF Russia’s corporate club already for 3 years, and for the same reason we support this project".

According to the opinion expressed by the World Wild Fund (WWF), "Failing corrective action, our Earth may be left without Amazonian selva, but with melted Arctic Ocean and raging hurricanes. Though this situation may today seem unrealistic, the facts show that a mere six degrees Celsius separate the world from the catastrophic changes never ever seen in the history of humankind." The scientific and educational activities of the National Geographic Society and the World Wild Fund (WWF) are focused on preventing this theoretic model from becoming reality.
