OREANDA-NEWS. February 22, 2008. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) considered the petitions of "Lukoil" OJSC and "Luikoil-Centrenefteproduct" Ltd. on purchasing 100% voting shares of the "GRAND" Association for Social-Economic, Scientific and Business Cooperation" CJSC and on purchasing 100% shares of "MEGA OIL M" Ltd, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The "GRAND" Association" CJSC and "MEGA OIL M" Ltd. own a chain of petrol stations in Moscow and the Moscow region.

The above transactions are aimed at development and optimization of the supply network on the market of oil products in Moscow and the Moscow region.

The Antimonopoly Service granted the petitions of "Lukoil" OJSC and "Lukoil-Centrenefteproduct" Ltd. because the share of the "Lukoil" group of persons on the market of retail supplies of oil products in the Moscow region will be around 20% after purchasing the new assets.

Earlier FAS Russia determined that the group of persons of "TNK-BP Holding" OJSC, the group of persons of "Lukoil" OJSC, the group of persons of the "Rosneft" Oil Company" OJSC, the group of persons of "Gazprom" OJSC, and the group of persons of "Surgutneftegaz" OJSC have the dominant positions on the markets of oil production, oil refining, and wholesale selling of oil products in the Russian Federation. As a consequence, and governed by Clause 2 Part 1 Article 23 and Clause 4 Part 2 Article 33 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", FAS Russia made a decision to issue a determination to the economic entities - members of the group of persons of "Lukoil" OJSC to prevent actions that may lead to competition restriction.

Earlier FAS Russia had issued similar determinations to "TNK-BP Holding" OJSC, the group of persons of the "Rosneft" Oil Company" OJSC and the group of persons of "Gazprom" OJSC based on the analysis of their petitions.
