OREANDA-NEWS. February 29, 2008. The 2,5-millionth engine – the first from the pilot batch of engines complying with the international environmental standards Euro-4 – came off the mother assembly line of KAMAZ-Diesel OJSC.

In the new engine for exhaust gas aftertreatment KAMAZ chose the technology SCR (Common Rail) on the basis of the subsystems of Denoxtronic-2. It ensures abatement of hazardous substances and improves the economic indexes of the engine at that. Soon in the R&D Centre there will be mounted ten power units on vehicles for laboratory and road tests. These are the basic motors for the future stock engines Euro-4 of several models.

Production of the pilot batch of 50 units of these engines is planned for April-May. Till the end of the year KAMAZ intends to turn out the first production batch – 500 vehicles with Euro-4 engines.
