OREANDA-NEWS. March 3, 2008. In February 2008, Murmansk Commercial  Seaport  handled 1.105.840 million tonnes of cargo (+22%, year-on-year), the port’s press center reports. In the reported period the port handled 16,204 wagons (including 12,168 wagons with coal) and 41 vessels. The volume of export cargo totaled 1.061.815 million tonnes (+20.8%, year-on-year) including 853,200 tonnes of coal, 123,800 tonnes of apatite, 22,100 tonnes of non-ferrous metal. Transshipment of general cargo amounted to 69,100 tonnes (+33.8%, year-on-year), dry bulk cargo – 1.036.8 million tonnes (+21.2%, year-on-year). From the beginning of the year Murmansk Commercial Seaport transported 2.276.646 million tonnes of different cargo. In the reported period it handled 34,995 wagons and 81 vessels.
