OREANDA-NEWS. On 05 March 2008 was announced, that Sokolniki Exhibition centre welcomed the opening ceremony of the 7th International specialized exhibition of cables, wires, fastening hardware and installation technologies Cabex 2008. 164 companies from 17 countries demonstrate their products and services, rivaling in the variety of goods and booth design.

The ceremony introduction was made by Alexander Kvasnikov, MVK Deputy Director General. He thanked the All-Russian Research and Development Institute of Cable Industry VNIIKP and Elektrokabel Association for their assistance in organization of the show. Besides, he expressed appreciation to Russian Academy of Science, Interkabel International Association, Svyazstroy Concern, Roselectromontazh Association, JSC Mosenergo, JSC Svyazinvest and Academy of Electric Engineering of the Russian Federation for assistance. “We have done everything we could to provide high-quality services and attract maximum of visitors. I wish you success and effective networking at the show!”, addressed Alexander Kvasnikov to the exhibitors and guests.

Vyacheslav Osipov, the Deputy Chairman of the Scientific and High Technology Committee of the State Duma of Russia, called Cabex the largest exhibition in its sphere and highlighted the fact that its narrow specialization will enable effective work of the exposition and business program. “Integration and innovation processes in Russian economics are progressing. The Elektrokabel Association and VNIIKP have made a large contribution to organization of Cabex. I wish all the exhibitors and visitors effective work and profitable contracts!”, stated Vyacheslav Osipov.

Alexander Krutov, the Moscow Duma Deputy, stated the significance of wires and cables in all the spheres of human life and informed the audience about a new Moscow program on switch from power transmission lines to buried power cable networks.

Alexander Volovik, the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Natural Science, President of the Motherland Non-Governmental Organization, thanked the cables and wires manufacturers for the variety of products which provide electric power and data transmission. He also invited the most prominent cables manufacturers to participate in the Alexander Nevsky medal bestowal, conferred for distinguished labour for the benefit of the Motherland.

“Last year cable productivity gain was 18%. The exhibition proves Russian cables meet the international standards. I wish Russian and foreign exhibitors good luck despite the fact they are competitors. Competition is the engine of progress and high quality of goods”, concluded Izyaslav Peshkov, the Chairman of the Elektrokabel association.
