OREANDA-NEWS. On 05 March 2008 was announced, that Irkutskenergo Company plans to construct four thermal power stations by 2020 for covering future electric power deficiency. According to the program of the Company's electric systems development, it is planned to construct a 300 MW block at Novo-Ziminsk Thermal Power Station within the limits of expansion of the existing thermal power stations. The basic advantage of this variant is low investment and operational expenses. Assumed terms of the power source construction is four years; putting of the thermal power station into the full capacity operation is scheduled for 2012.

Besides, a coal thermal power station will be constructed in the Taishet area for the capacity of 990 MW. Term of construction is seven years; its putting into a full capacity operation is planned by 2016.

Also the company aims to erect two gas power stations in the region - in Irkutsk and Kirensk. Capacity of the Irkutsk station will equal 900 MW. The program stipulates that creation of this station is caused by necessity of creation of a thermal source on the right bank of the Angara in Irkutsk where the basic fuel is gas (in connection with absence of an opportunity of delivery of other fuel by rail). Putting of the station into designed capacity is scheduled in 2020. Gas thermal power station in Kirensk is designed for 300 MW. This site, as documents states, has a cheap fuel - associated gas from Dulisminsky deposit. Putting of the thermal power station into full capacity operation is planned to be performed by 2014.

The volume of investments necessary for realisation of the project equals more than RUR 99.2 billion. The arrangements are planned to be realised due to additional issue of shares.
