OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2008. The Russian National Carrier JSC “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” has received a new fifteenth A320 liner within the frame of the operation leasing transaction. The aircraft is named “G.Sedov” in honor of the great Russian polar researcher, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

This is the second aircraft of this kind received in the current year within the frame of the operation leasing transaction, concluded in 2007. The lender is the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

In 2008 nine more A320 airplanes are expected to be delivered. All the aircraft is new – directly form the plant of the “Airbus” Company. Presently the fleet of the airline numbers 36 airplanes of the A320 family, including 11 – A319, 15 – A320, 10 – A321. The cabin is arranged in two classes, admitting 116 (A319), 140 (A320) and 170 (A321) passengers. The airbuses of the A320 family are operated in the wide range of the European and internal Russian routes. In accordance to the operate reliability characteristics and airborne hours per one plane, Aeroflot is among the world leaders.
