OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2008. The Gomel Engine Overhaul Plant and the German company Lemken have set up a joint venture of 4-meter tillage sowing farm machines.

The multifunctionality of these machines gives an opportunity to till and sow simultaneously what saves time and fuel. The first experimental lot of ten vehicles will be sent to the Gomel oblast in early April.

According to Nikolai Yermakov, new farm machines will be assembled from imported component parts. In the future, in line with the agreement, Belarusian units and mechanisms will account for 50% of the component parts. The output will depend on the demand. The company’s capacity totals at least 100 farm machines a year.

Today Belarus produces three- and six-meter combined tillage machines. Gomel will specialize in the production of four-meter farm machines what will boost the efficiency of tractors Belarus 1222 and Belarus 1523 which output has been increasing.

Founded in 1966, Gomel Engine Overhaul Plant repairs different types of diesel engines including E-40 Detroit, reequips fodder harvesters, overhauls MTZ tractors 80 (82), T-150 and others.
