OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2008. Stroytransgaz has begun construction work for a project to expand Yuzhnaya TEC-22, part of the Nevsky subsidiary of TGK-1 in St. Petersburg.

The contract with the general contractor Technopromexport – responsible for building the new No4 energy block for Yuzhnaya TEC-22 – calls for Stroytransgaz to complete the entire complex of construction and assembly work for the chimney-type cooling tower and to procure and assemble the equipment for the tower.

The chimney-type cooling tower is an element of the circulating water supply system for the combined heat and power station and is designed to cool a large volume of water. The tower will be filled with reinforced concrete sheathing 82 meters high. The irrigated area will cover 3,200 square meters.

In addition to fabricating the circulating water supply system, Stroytransgaz will deliver ancillary equipment and pipes, carry out brickwork and heat insulation for the entire new energy block at Yuzhnaya TEC-22, and build the system for cooling the steam-turbine condensers for the electric power plant.
