OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2008. Answering questions about Ukraine-Russia relations in gas trading field, today in Brussels, President Victor Yushchenko stressed that details of the latest agreements with Russia in that field require clarification.

According to President on March 12 he heard the report of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Board Chairman O. Dubyna about the agreement between Naftogaz and Russian Gazprom in gas trade field. “Overall I am satisfied with the contents of the agreement because it complies with political arraignments, which had been made before”, - said Victor Yushchenko.

At the same time he stressed that there are some nuance in the agreement, such as appearance of the new 321 dollar price for one thousand cubic meters of gas, which require examination. Another subject requiring scrutiny to President is a perspective of arraignment of gas supplies from Central Asia in 2009 within the scope of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan joint statement of March 12 about their intention to sell gas at the European prices.

Giving his overall opinion on the situation President Yushchenko said that “it is crucial to settle all accounts and come out of this affected gas clash”.
