OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2008. The price for gas for Belarus in Q2 2008 can be fixed at a session of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State, First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko told reporters on March 14.

“This issue will be discussed at a narrow-format meeting in Minsk on March 21,” he said.

According to the First Vice Premier, the Belarusian side is discussing this issue with Gazprom and the Russian Government. “We are trying to convince our partners that it is necessary to adjust the gas price calculation formula,” Vladimir Semashko noted. 

In Q1 2008, Belarus buys Russian gas at the price of \\$119 per 1,000 cubic meters.
