OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2008. The main task of the Program of human resources policy and personnel training approved at GMP (ESTAR Group) is to preserve the team of highly qualified professionals working at the plant and form a staff reserve for the enterprise.

The analysis of the enterprise’s personnel showed that the majority of professionals are people aged 41-50 that amounts to 30.9% of the staff. On the basis of this data, with the purpose of involving young employees, an Agreement on mutual cooperation was made between the plant and R&D centre Professional college #31 that trains professionals for GMP. The document also specifies the procedure of internships at the metallurgy enterprise for the students. In the course of the last 2 years 73 future professionals took the internships for the following occupations: turner, equipment repair electrician, electro-gas welder, repairman, h/r mill operator, cook. The classes took place in the following workshops: section rolling, ball rolling, power, railway and other workshops of the enterprise. Currently 83 students of College #31 are practicing the theoretic skills at GMP; qualified workers will be chosen among them to work at the enterprise.

The plant's management also established a Council of young professionals to support enthusiastic and creative professionals and improve their professional qualities, develop their business and management skills.

Besides, a staff reserve was formed. It comprises employees recommended by the managers of structural departments wishing to have a course of additional training according to individual plans developed regarding the needs of each employee and of the enterprise in general.

It is planned to spend 1.241 mln rubles (18% more as compared to 2007 - 1.052 mln rubles) in 2008 to implement the program of training, retraining and advanced training of JSC GMP employees.
