OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2008. Steel Profile, a Novosibirsk plant, plans to expand the range of round pipes with the diameter of 38 mm and shaped pipes (30*30 and 40*20 mm with wall thickness of 1.5-2 mm) in April. It was previously planned to develop the new production as early as September, 2007, but due to a supply delay of the necessary tools, it was rescheduled. Rolling tools were supplied in February and are virtually ready for operation.

First the production of round pipes with the diameter of 38 mm will be developed. It should be noted that this kind of pipes will be produced both for commercial shipments and own needs, in particular, for production of shaped pipes with the size of 30*30 and 40*20 mm. The production will be made through further “reforming” the pipes at the stage of calibration. The production volume of the new products will be specified in short time, because the enterprise is currently forming its order portfolio.

According to the results of work, about 1,700 t of steel pipes were produced over 2 months and that exceeds similar rates of the last year by 24%. In March the planned production volume is 900 t.

As the enterprise notes, an increase in steel pipes production is expected in the 2nd quarter up to the level of 1,000-1,100 t per month. It should also be noted that last year the maximum level of production was marked in April and amounted to 950 t. It is planned to reach the growth of production rates through the increase of number of orders for products and expansion of the product range.
