OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2008. The Bank of Moscow has given an award to the Tennis Federation of the Samara Region. On the basis of the results of 2007, the Tennis Federation of the Samara Region won the Bank of Moscow prize in the category "Best training of young tennis players". Let is recall that at the Kremlin Cup 2006, the Tennis Federation of Russia decided to assess the professional activities of its subdivisions on an annual basis and nominate the best of them for the Bank of Moscow prize.

The award ceremony, timed to coincide with the young people’s tennis tournament entitled "Individual Championship of Russia", was held in Togliatti, at the Togliatti Tennis Centre sports complex. The event was attended by the Mayor of Togliatti, Antaloiy Pushkov, the Vice-President of the Tennis Federation of Russia Vladimir Lazarev, President of the Tennis Federation of the Samara Region fund Alexander Kosyrev, as well as Director of the Samara Branch of the Bank of Moscow Yuri Kofanov.

"We are delighted that the Bank of Moscow is supporting the training of young tennis players", Alexander Kosyrev noted. "Tennis is an expensive sport, so financial assistance is always needed. I hope that, thanks to the support provided by the Bank, new tennis stars will appear in the Samara Region."

According to Yuri Kofanov, "support for tennis is one of the Bank’s key programmes for development of sport in Russia." In addition to the Tennis Federation of the Samara Region fund, the Bank’s awards also went to: the Tennis Federation of Sochi in the category "For the best training of young tennis players", the Tennis Federation of the Republic of Bashkortostan ion the category "For development of the tennis infrastructure" and the Tennis Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the category "For the best organisation of regional tennis events". By resolution of the Tennis Federation of Russia, the prize fund of 20 thousand US dollars will be divided equally between the victorious tennis federations.
