On 19 March 2008 was announced, that Moscow City Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, the members of the city government of Moscow, including the first deputy city mayors Vladimir Resin and Yuri Roslyak, as well as the head architect of Moscow Aleksander Kuzmin took part in an opening ceremony of the high-rise office building Sokolinaya Gora. The structure located on Semyonovskaya Square has been built within the program of the city government of the Russian capital called New Ring of Moscow.

Mr Luzhkov gave a thumbs up to the new high-rise complex. “The project is great. It should be noted that the building and erection was done in workmanlike manner. The structure has been put up on a very small site. I would say that the builders showed talent in the organization of work,” the official noted.

The city mayor of Moscow emphasized that Sokolinaya Gora was among the first projects realized within the program New Ring of Moscow and proved the availability of it.

According to Mr Luzhkov, the projects of another 8 high-rise buildings have been elaborated currently. In total the first stage of the program is to include the construction of 60 skyscrapers basically in the dormitory areas.

“Skyscrapers won’t be built in the centre of the city within the limits of the third ring road. The high-rise buildings will be erected in the outlying districts because of the shortage of land in Moscow,” he added.

Sokolinaya Gora office centre is located on 1A Semyonovskaya Square, near Semyonovskaya station of the Moscow Metro. The 120-metre tall complex contains three buildings with 33, 24 and 18 storeys. An underground and open-air car park has a capacity of 260 parking places. The total area of the structure equals 34,600 square metres. The offices occupy 21,000 square metres. The offices with the areas of 600-1,100 square metres are open-plan spaces.

It is stipulated that a spa salon, a beauty salon, a fitness club, a restaurant as well as premises for the technical staff, a control room, an automatic switching centre and a fire post will be located on three lower storeys of the building.

The complex is equipped with the very latest electricity supply system, fire-control units, ventilation systems and air-comfort systems. There are the up-to-date telecommunications facilities for all branches of communications in the building. It also has the up-to-date system of controlling, interchanging and gathering the data that allows to monitor all engineering systems in an automatic mode from the control room.

An investor of the project is JSC Investment Company VIKAINVEST, a designer is LLC Association of Theatre Architects. The construction was realized by a management company – JSC Corporation MONTAZHSPETSSTROY, a customer – LLC Diversified Enterprise KVARK, a general contractor – LLC SMP-3.
