OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 March 2008 was announced, that Kamushki residential neighbourhood located near Moscow City business centre is to undergo reconstruction scheduled to be launched in 2008. A relevant draft law was approved during the first reading at a session of Moscow Municipal Duma on March 19.

Aleksander Kuzmin, head of Moskomarkhitektura, noted at the session that it was the first project of area reconstruction approved by the city law. “The block adjoins Moscow City and the third ring road. There are currently 32 structures, including a kindergarten and 24 residential houses, basically 5-storey buildings, there,” the official said.

According to him, the whole of the population of the block, 2,993 residents, is to be settled in the new places by the end of 2011.

Mr Kuzmin added that the old buildings of 1950-1960s were planned to be demolished and 200,000 square metres of housing and 300,000 square metres of nonresidential premises were to be erected but there wouldn’t be offices among them.

The head of Moskomarkhitektura informed that the reconstruction of the block was scheduled to be completed by 2013. It is supposed that 30 billion roubles will be put into the program.

“This is a fully non-budget project,” Mr Kuzmin emphasized.
