OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 March 2008 was announced, that in 2007 OJSC "Kovdorsky mining and processing factory", being a part of Mineral and Chemical Company EuroChem sold goods for 10.314 billion Rubles.

In 2007 iron ore concentrate production output decreased by 7% compared to 2006 and made 5. 241 million tons. Such insignificant decrease was consciously effected by OJSC MCC EuroChem as in 2007 new processing factory was launched and combined processing of ore and wastes after ore processing (“apatite tracks”) was increased. At the same time, in order to satisfy growing demand in the world market, shipment of concentrate grew up to 5.4 million tons, that exceeded results of 2006 by 10%, which was due to shipment of remains in storages.

As it was earlier mentioned, launch of new processing factory facilities was aimed at increase in production of apatite concentrate. Thus, in 2007 production increase up to 2.5 million tons that is 25% more than in 2006. The same extent of increased showed shipments of apatite in 2007 compared to 2006. These measures allowed to reduce import of Moroccan raw materials for phosphor enterprises of EuroChem.

8.2 thousand tons of baddeleyite concentrate were shipped to consumers during the year that is 1% higher than shipment amounts in 2006. By the way, Kovdorsky GOK (Mining and processing factory) is the only world producer of baddeleyite concentrate, which is a unique raw material containing zirconium, used for production of   abrasives, refractories and ceramic pigments.

Growth of all production figures is ensured by large-scaled investment programs conducted by OJSC MCC EuroChem among which are purchase of mining equipment and technological transport means, improvement of extraction and ore processing technologies.
