OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 March 2008 Oleg Toni, vise-president of JSC Russian Railways, told journalists, that residential houses, offices and a hotel are planned to be built near Kievsky and Rizhsky railway stations of Moscow, .

“The use of a part of the 150-ha area by JSC RZD [Russian Railways] on behalf of Moscow will be launched in 2009. There will most probably be two pilot projects – the first is in the area of Rizhsky railway station, the second is in the area behind Kievsky railway staion,” the vise president said.

According to Mr Toni, residential houses, a hotel complex, public buildings and structures are to be erected on a site with the area of about 36 hectares near Rizhsky railway station.

A historic building of the railway station and its function will be preserved, the official specified.

Mr Toni added that the second project stipulated the use of the area behind Kievsky railway station, behind Poklonnaya Gora. A residential and office centre with the total area of over 2 million square metres is intended to go up there. The whole complex is to be built above the railway.
