OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 March 2008 was announced, that the orthodox church of Assumption of Virgin Mary is to be built in west Moscow.

“The city government of the capital [of Russia] allowed the orthodox parish of the church of Assumption of Virgin Mary in Matveevskoe [area] of Moscow to elaborate a city-planning and preproject documentation on construction of the orthodox church of Assumption of Virgin Mary in Matveevskoe on a site located on 4 Nezhinskaya Street during 2008-2009,” a source from the city administration of Moscow said.

According to the source, an approximate area of the site where the church set to be erected equals 0.7 hectares.

“The religious organization will provide the elaboration and endorsement of the city-planning documentation on building the object at the expense of its own means and the donations by artificial and natural persons,” the employee of the city mayor’s office of Moscow added.
