OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2008. The Ukrainian Government has decided to increase all pensions to the subsistence minimum level starting on April 1, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said in interview with TV channel 1+1.

Apart from this, in amending the 2008 national budget, the government is planning to raise the living wage.

Starting on January 1, the 2008 state budget envisages subsistence minimum of UAH 592 (UAH 5.05 / USD 1) a month, and the minimal wage at UAH 515 a month. It is also planned to increase the subsistence minimum to UAH 605 from April 1, UAH 607 from July 1, and UAH 626 from October 1.
