OREANDA-NEWS. On 01 April 2008 En+ Group announced the creation of its new sub-division, En+ Coal.
 
En+ Group has set up the new company to optimise the management of its existing coal assets, explore investment opportunities and implement new projects in the coal industry.
 
Andrey Churin has been appointed Managing Director of En+ Coal. Andrey Churin is one of the leading professionals in the Russian coal industry and before joining En+ Group was Managing Director of Donskoy Ugol (Don Coal).
 
“Our interest in the coal industry at En+ is an important part of our strategy to build a leading international energy company. In order to achieve this goal it is absolutely critical to have top level experts in our team, and I am delighted that Andrey Churin has accepted our proposal,” said En+ Group Managing Director Vladislav Solovyov on the new appointment.
 
Biography
 
Andrey Churin was born in 1972 in Rostov-on-Don and is a Candidate of Economic Sciences. Prior to joining the coal industry, he organised and led investment activies at banking industry.
 
Since 2002, Andrey Churin has held key positions at Don Ugol and RostovShakhtoStroy. Andrey Churin’s main activities were restructuring the business of Russia’s largest mines construction company, introducing modern management procedures and taking the company from the local to the national market, as well as implementing a construction project and the startup of commercial operations at a new coal mine in eastern Donbass. In 2006, Andrey Churin became Managing Director of Donskoy Ugol (Don Coal).
