OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 April 2008 was announced, that Sergey Polonsky has been included into the billionaire rating drawn up annually by Forbes Magazine American Edition. Polonsky’s fortune was estimated at \\$1.2 billion.

The first Russians to be included among the planet’s richest people were also Ruben Vardanyan from “Troyka Dialog” with a fortune of \\$1.3 billion, Sergey Generalov (“Promyshlennie Investory”), Vadim Moshkovich (“Rusagro”), Vitaly Malkin (senator from Buryatia), Igor Kim (URSA Bank) and Georgy Krasnyansky (“Eurocement Group”), with \\$1 billion each.

This year our country will get “the silver medal” for the total number of billionaires – 87 people from Russia have made it into the billionaire list. Russia has produced a sensation, having during the year of 2007 virtually doubled the number of its wealthy people included into the world rating. Thus Russia has moved the traditional second prize winner, Germany, down into the third place, losing only to the United States.

Besides, Moscow has won the first place for the number of residents in a single city owning a fortune over \\$1 billion, leaving behind such cities as New York and London. According to Forbes, there are currently 74 billionaires living in Moscow, as compared to 71 in New York and 36 in London.
