OREANDA-NEWS. April 2, 2008. Irish Greenfield Project Management Ltd intends to invest EUR65 million in bio-ethanol production in Belarus.

The project is being carried out in line with the cooperation agreement concluded between the Irish company and Belbiopharm Concern. The project will involve two Belarusian manufacturers – Bobruisk hydrolysis plant and Mozyr Ethanol. When the bio-ethanol productions are launched, the Mozyr facility is projected to produce 550 million liters of bio-ethanol, the Bobruisk facility – 100 million liters of bio-ethanol. The total investments will make up EUR220 million.

In the near future Greenfield Company will inspect the power supply services of the future plants in Mozyr and Bobruisk. The inspection will be carried out by a Swedish consulting company. There is a task to identify the most efficient approaches to provide the future plants with power and its utilization within the framework of the production process, specialists of the Irish company noted.

Then, specialists will conduct an ecological research of the project. The development of the design estimate documentation will become the final stage of the preparation for the construction. The preparation of the documentation is expected to be finalized in Q3 2008 and the project will be launched at once. To monitor the construction a supervision council composed of representatives of Belbiopharm Concern and Greenfield Company will be set up.
